O.W.L. 4-6 Course
O.W.L. 4-6 Course
Fourth through Sixth Grades
Service Description
The curriculum is designed to help children ages nine through twelve to gain the knowledge, life principles, and skills they need to understand and express their sexuality in holistic, life-enhancing ways. Like the other Our Whole Lives programs for different age groups, this comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program introduces key topics like values, body image, gender and sexual identity, peer pressure, and healthy relationships with sensitivity and inclusiveness, yet without specifically religious doctrine or reference. The second edition introduces new topics including body image, social media/Internet, and consent, as well as an updated and deeper exploration of gender identity and roles. This course spans ten (10) sessions. O.W.L. Courses have a standard tuition cost of $20 per participant, however, we offer a sliding scale for financial hardship. Dues are on an honor system, no explanation required, select the amount you are able to provide. There are also two Scholarship options that would cover the cost of 2 or 3 participants to help those experiencing financial hardship. Dues cover the cost of materials and the cost of training teachers to facilitate these classes. A minimum of eight (8) participants is required to run this course, otherwise times will be rescheduled. Funds can be held for the rescheduled dates, or refunded.
